LOW-POWER, 1-/4-/8-CHANNEL, 400ksps, 12- AND 10-BIT ADCs
SUNNYVALE, CA—April 26, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX1280MAX1287 and MAX1080MAX1087 400ksps, 1-/4-/8-channel, 12- and 10-bit ADCs. These serially interfaced ADCs can be connected directly to SPI, QSPI, and MICROWIRE devices without external logic. Ideal for portable data acquisition and battery-powered applications, they combine low-power operation (1.5mA at 100ksps), excellent dynamic performance (SINAD > 70dB), and high speed (400ksps) in an 8-pin SO package.
The analog inputs are software-configurable for unipolar/bipolar and single-ended/differential operation. The full-scale analog input range is set by the internal +2.5V reference or by an externally applied reference in the 1V to VDD range.
Operating from a +2.7V to +5.5V analog supply, these devices consume only 2.5mA at 400ksps. Software power-down modes reduce current consumption to 1.5mA at 100ksps and further reduce supply current to less than 10µA at slower data rates.
The MAX1280MAX1287 and MAX1080MAX1087 are available in 8-pin SO, 16- and 20-pin TSSOP packages with prices starting from $3.88 (1000-up, FOB USA).
