FIRST BACKUP-BATTERY RESET ICs WITH CHIP-ENABLE GATING IN A SOT PACKAGE

Note to Editors: The MAX6365/MAX6367/MAX6368 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits are the first fully integrated backup-battery switchover reset devices with chip-enable gating available in SOT packages. The SOT package is approximately 70% smaller than traditional solutions. The miniature package and low power consumption (10µA) make this part ideal for portable applications.
SUNNYVALE, CA—May 4, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6365/MAX6367/MAX6368 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits. Designed to monitor rails of +2.5V to +5.0V in µP digital systems, these devices reduce cost and eliminate external components and adjustments.

The devices feature ±2.5% reset threshold accuracy over temperature, and automatically switch RAM/RTC to backup power when VCC falls below the reset threshold and is less than the battery backup voltage. Chip-enable gating provides write protection to the RAM under these conditions.

In addition, whenever the supply voltage falls below the reset threshold, a reset signal is asserted and maintained for at least 150ms after VCC rises above the reset threshold. All devices are available with push-pull active-low RESET-bar output, open-drain active-high RESET-bar output, or open-drain active-low RESET-bar output. These devices also offer the additional functionality of a manual reset input (MAX6365), a battery-on output (MAX6367), or an auxiliary reset input (MAX6368). They consume only 10µA of supply current and are available in 8-pin SOT packages. Prices start from $1.88 (2500-up, FOB USA).
