OCTAL, 13-BIT, +8V VOLTAGE-OUTPUT DAC WITH PARALLEL INTERFACE
SUNNYVALE, CA—May 12, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX5270, containing eight 13-bit voltage-output DACs on one monolithic chip. The output voltages have a full-scale range of 0V to +8.192V from reference voltages of +4.096V to GND. There are three separate pairs of differential reference inputs. The output amplifiers remain stable, driving capacitive loads up to 10,000pF. In addition, output glitch can be as low as 30mV during major carry transitions. The MAX5270 also offers low 120nV per root-Hz output noise and 75µV DC crosstalk.
The MAX5270 accepts 13-bit parallel-loaded data from the external bus into one of the 8 input registers under the control of the WR, CS and DAC address pins, A0A2. The DAC outputs are updated upon receipt of new data into the DAC registers. Each DAC output is buffered with a gain of two amplifiers into which an external DAC offset voltage can be inserted via the SYSGND pins. The MAX5270 is available in a space-saving 44-pin MQFP package. Prices start from $22.50 (1000-up, FOB USA).
