TINY UCSP SWITCHES OFFER 2.5-OHM ON-RESISTANCE
SUNNYVALE, CA-August 28, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX4686/MAX4687/MAX4688, the industrys smallest analog switches in a chip-scale package (UCSP). The chip occupies only a 1.5mm x 1.02mm footprint, significantly reducing the required PC board area. These tiny switches operate from +1.8V to +5.5V and consume only 1µA of quiescent current making them ideal for portable battery-operated devices. Their low on-resistance (2.5Ω max) and total harmonic distortion (0.06%) also make these parts well suited for precision audio routing applications.
The MAX4686/MAX4687 are single-pole/single-throw (SPST) analog switches, and the MAX4688 is a single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) analog switch. The MAX4686 is a normally open (NO) switch, and the MAX4687 is a normally closed (NC) switch. The MAX4688 has one normally open (NO) switch and one normally closed switch (NC). The MAX4688 offers guaranteed break-before-make switching.
The devices feature fast switching times (30ns tON and 12ns tOFF) and offer low leakage currents (0.5nA max). When operating at +3V supply, the digital logic inputs are +1.8V logic compatible. The MAX4686/MAX4687/ MAX4688 are available in a 6-bump, 0.5mm pitch UCSP packages. All products are offered in the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Prices start at $1.00 (1000-up, FOB USA).
