初のクリスタル不要の経過時間カウンタ

DALLAS, TX-April 16, 2002-Dallas Semiconductor introduces the DS1682 elapsed time recorder with alarm designed to record the elapsed time of events, such as how long a system has been in operation and/or the number of uses since inception of service, repair, or the last calibration.

Through its 2-wire bus, the DS1682 records the total time that the event input has been active and the number of events that have occurred. The elapsed time counter monitors event durations with quarter-second resolution up to 34 years of elapsed time with a 2% typical accuracy. The programmable alarm triggers an output to notify that a total accumulated time limit has been reached.

Because it contains a factory-calibrated, temperature-compensated RC time base, the DS1682 does not require a crystal, making it ideal for high-temperature, rugged, and industrial applications where vibration is present, which can damage quartz crystals. EEPROM technology maintains data in the absence of power, thus eliminating the need for a backup power source.

Available in an 8-pin SO, the DS1682 operates over a wide power-supply range (2.5V to 5.5V) and the extended-industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Prices start at $1.73 (1000-up, FOB USA).
