FOUR/EIGHT-CHANNEL VIDEO AMPS OPERATE FROM SINGLE +5V SUPPLY
SUNNYVALE, CA—May 21, 1999—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX4311/MAX4312/MAX4314/MAX4315 single-supply, four- and eight-channel multiplexer amplifiers with 345MHz (MAX4311) video output buffers. Unlike other mux amps that require both +5V and -5V supplies, these mux amps are guaranteed to operate from a single +4.0V to +10.5V supply. They also operate from dual ±2.0V to ±5.25V supplies in dual-supply applications. These devices are the ideal choice for a variety of portable battery-powered video switching applications with Rail-to-Rail® outputs, ground sensing inputs, and a low 6.1mA quiescent supply current. In addition, low cost, an ultra-low switching glitch (10mVp-p), and excellent video specifications make these mux amps suitable for consumer applications, including video teleconferencing equipment, set-top boxes, and video surveillance systems.
The MAX4311/MAX4312/MAX4314/MAX4315 offer 0.1dB gain flatness to 78MHz, slew rates of up to 430V/µs, low differential gain/phase of 0.06%/0.08°, and a spurious-free dynamic range of -95dBc (MAX4314/MAX4315 at 3MHz). They also have an optional disable mode that reduces the supply current to 560µA and places the outputs in a high-impedance state, making these ICs useful in multiplexing applications that require larger switch matrices.
The MAX4311/MAX4314 are offered in 14-pin SO and 16-pin QSOP packages; the MAX4312/MAX4315 are offered in 16-pin SO and QSOP packages. Prices start from $0.44 per channel (100,000-up, factory direct, FOB USA).
