SUNNYVALE, CA—February 16, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6509/MAX6510, the latest additions to the most complete range of temperature switches in the industry. These devices are the smallest resistor-programmable temperature comparators available today.
Temperature thresholds from -40°C to +125°C can be set using one external resistor. Trip point accuracy is ±0.5°C (typ) and ±4°C (max) over the entire temperature range (-40°C to +125°C). Hysteresis is pin-selectable at 2°C or 10°C. These low-power devices operate from a +2.7V to +5.5V supply, making them ideal for use in portable and space-constrained environments.
The MAX6509 is available in a 5-pin SOT23 package and has an open-drain output; the MAX6510 comes in a 6-pin SOT23 package and has a programmable output (open-drain with internal pull-up, active-high or active-low). Both are available in versions whose outputs become active as the temperature rises above the threshold temperature (SET HOT) or falls below the threshold temperature (SET COLD).
