The iButton can be mounted in a key fob that can be put on a keyring. There are three styles of key fob. It is recommended that the F5 type can be used with the Dallas fobs.

Yes, there are many mounting devices for iButtons to a flat surface such as the DS9093 Wall mounts. If a more permanent mounting is required, contact 3M. Tell them you wish to mount Type 305 Stainless Steel to whatever the other material is. They are very knowledgable and helpful.
