FULLY MONOLITHIC, 900MHz SiGe VCOs IN 8-PIN µMAX
SUNNYVALE, CA—May 16, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX2622/MAX2623/MAX2624 SiGe voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs). They are designed for ISM-band radios and cordless phones, including digital European cordless telephones (DECT). These devices combine the advantages of VCO modules, such as fast design time and guaranteed performance, with the low cost of discrete VCO designs. The MAX2622/MAX2623/MAX2624 occupy only one-third the board space of modules or discrete designs.
The MAX2622 has a guaranteed 855MHz to 881MHz tuning range, making it ideal for systems operating in the European 866MHz to 868MHz ISM band, which uses an IF of approximately 11MHz. The MAX2623 has an 885MHz to 950MHz tuning range, making it suitable for use in DECT systems in both receive and transmit modes. The MAX2623 can also be used in U.S. ISM-band systems with IF frequencies of approximately 11MHz. The MAX2624, intended for the U.S. ISM band, can be used with 45MHz and 70MHz IF.
The output of the MAX2622/MAX2623/MAX2624 is internally matched to 50W using just two capacitors. Two VCC bypass capacitors complete the simple application circuit.
