10.7Gbps LOW-POWER EAM DRIVER
SUNNYVALE, CA-June 13, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX3935 EAM driver, which accepts CML NRZ data and modulates an EAM module at data rates up to 10.7Gbps. With a single-5.2V supply, 550mW of power consumption, and a compact 32-pin QFN package (5x5mm2), the MAX3935 is an excellent choice for area-restricted designs. The product can operate with a selectable retiming latch to minimize jitter accumulations in the transmit path. The MAX3935 has a 34ps edge speed with a programmable modulation voltage up to 3V and programmable bias voltage up to 1.4V into 50Ω. Also integrated is a pulse-width control to precompensate for asymmetrical EAM characteristics. The MAX3935 has integrated 50Ω termination at the input and 75Ω of back termination at the output to reduce external component count.
The MAX3935 is designed for SONET OC192/SDH STM64 Systems, Metro, Long Haul, Point to Point and DWDM applications. It operates from -40°C to +85°C with prices starting at $170.50 (1000-up, FOB USA).
