NEW LMX393 AND LMX339 COMPARATORS OFFER IMPROVED PERFORMANCE OVER COMPETITION

continues its expansion of low-cost LMX3xx comparators with the addition of the LMX393 dual comparator and the LMX339 quad comparator. The dual and the quad have equal specifications of the single LMX331, providing better performance and packaging over the LMV3xx comparator series currently being offered by National and TI. The 1.8V to 5.5V voltage range of these devices extends nearly 60% beyond the competition’s 2.7V to 5.0V range. The LMX331/LMX393/LMX339 are guaranteed to operate up to +125°C, a 30% improvement. Packaging has also improved with the new LMX comparator series. The LMX393 dual comparator in an 8-pin SOT23 package reduces board space by 40% over the 8-pin µMAX (MSOP) package-the smallest offering by the competition.
In addition to the LMX331 series of comparators, the introduction of the LMX331H series extends the family’s performance improvements by offering a 2mV internal hysteresis, further reducing resistor component count, cost, and board space while preventing erroneous output transitions in the system.
The dual LMX393/LMX393H come in the 3mm x 3mm 8-pin SOT23 package as well as the µMAX (MSOP) package. The quad LMX339/LMX339H are offered in the 14-pin TSSOP and SO packages. The single LMX331/LMX331H are offered in the space-saving 5-pin SC70 and 5-pin SOT23 packages. Prices start at $0.26 (1000-up, FOB USA).
