ULTRA-LOW-POWER µP SUPERVISORY CIRCUITS IN A 4-BUMP CHIP-SCALE PACKAGE ARE PERFECT FOR PORTABLE EQUIPMENT
SUNNYVALE, CA-September 10, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6400MAX6405 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits in a chip- scale package (UCSP).
Designed to monitor supply rails of +2.5V to +5V in µP and digital systems, these low-power devices consume only 500nA of quiescent current, making them perfect for space-sensitive portable applications such as cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players, pagers, and GPS equipment.
Whenever the monitored voltage falls below the reset threshold, the reset output asserts and stays asserted for a minimum reset timeout period (100ms min) after VCC rises above the reset threshold. Reset thresholds are available from +2.20V to +3.08V (MAX6400/MAX6401/MAX6402) and from +3.30V to +4.63V (MAX6403/MAX6404/MAX6405), in approximately 100mV increments. These devices are available with three reset output options: an active-low, push-pull output (MAX6400/MAX6403), an active-high, push-pull output (MAX6401/MAX6404), and an active-low, open-drain output (MAX6402/MAX6405). Each device features a manual reset input that allows for a reset function to be asserted without a power brownout condition. This can be used for a system hardware reset or for testing the system.
These devices operate from -40°C to +85°C. Prices start at $0.98 (2500 or 10,000 minimum, FOB USA).
