2.5Gbps, +3.3V CLOCK AND DATA RETIMING ICs WITH VERTICAL THRESHOLD ADJUST

 
 

SUNNYVALE, CA-September 27, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX3877/MAX3878, which recover, clock, and retime an optically amplified input data stream at 2.488Gbps. Both clock and data recoveries are equipped with up to ±180mV of vertical threshold adjust and generate only 0.003UIRMS of jitter, making these products an excellent choice for SONET/SDH systems that optimize bit error rate and employ optical amplification. In systems deployed without optical amplification, the MAX3877/MAX3878 accept inputs as low as 10mVp-p and integrate Loss of Signal (LOS) and Loss of Lock (LOL), allowing for a simple two-chip receiver solution consisting of a transimpedance amplifier and a CDR.

The MAX3877/MAX3878 consume 540mW of power and are designed with CML- and PECL-compatible output levels, respectively.

The MAX3877/MAX3878 are designed to be used in SONET OC48/SDH STM16 systems, metro, long haul, point-to-point and DWDM applications. Each operates from -40°C to +85°C with prices starting at $46.20 (1000-up, FOB USA).
