SUNNYVALE, CA-February 5, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX9400/MAX9402/MAX9403/MAX9405, the latest members of the Maxim ECL/PECL family of line driver/receivers. The MAX9400/MAX9402/MAX9403/MAX9405 are quad 3.0GHz LVECL/LVPECL line driver/receivers that offer the lowest channel-to-channel skew, 8ps (typ). Each of the four channels accepts differential LVECL/LVPECL inputs and can be operated synchronously with an external clock, or independently, determined by the state of the SEL input. Integrated input and output termination reduces external component counts on the board. The MAX9402 has open inputs and 50Ω-series outputs. The MAX9403 has 100Ω differential input impedance and open-emitter outputs. The MAX9405 has 100Ω differential input impedance and 50Ω-series outputs. Inherent low channel-to-channel skew (8ps typ) makes these parts ideal for clock and data distribution applications in automatic test equipment, central office switches, networking switches and routers, and SONET/SDH communication applications where signal and clock integrity is critical.
Specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C, the MAX9400/MAX9402/MAX9403/MAX9405 are designed to operate with a wide 2.375V to 5.5V supply range in PECL systems and -2.375V to -5.5V in ECL systems. These devices are available in 32-pin 5mm x 5mm TQFP and 5mm x 5mm thermally enhanced QFN packages. Prices start at $10.48 (1000-up, FOB USA).
