SUNNYVALE, CA-February 19, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX9360/MAX9361, the fastest members of the Maxim TTL-to-ECL translator family. The MAX9360/MAX9361 are single-channel LVTTL/CMOS-to-ECL/LVECL translators. The MAX9360 accepts LVTTL/CMOS input signals and translates them to LVECL/ECL levels, and the MAX9361 is designed for LVTTL/TTL input signals. The MAX9360/MAX961 are pin compatible with the MC100EPT24 and the MC100ELT24. Improved jitter performance (3ps) for random jitter makes this part ideal for clock distribution in automatic test equipment, central office switches, networking switches and routers, and SONET/SDH communication applications where signal and clock integrity is critical.

The MAX9360 accepts LVTTL/CMOS inputs and operates with a 3.0V to 3.6V supply. The output of the MAX9360/MAX9361 operates at a wide supply range of -2.25V to -5.5V for ECL or LVECL systems. These devices are available in 8-pin SO and SOT23 packages. The thermally enhanced 8-pin SOT23 package offers a 70% size reduction over the industry-standard SO. The SO package is specified for -40°C to +85°C, whereas the SOT23 package is specified for 0°C to +85°C.
