2.7Gbpsレーザドライバ、80mAの変調電流で消費電力は僅か200mW!
Note to Editor: The MAX3863 is a significant new product. The MAX3863 is a 3.3V, 2.7Gbps laser driver that can deliver 80mA of modulation current while only consuming 200mW of power. The MAX3863 is equipped with automatic power compensation and automatic power control (APC) loops that provide the customer with a constant extinction ratio.
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 25, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX3863 laser driver, designed specifically for WDM transmission systems and SDH/SONET applications, at rates up to 2.7Gbps. The MAX3863 is able to deliver a laser modulation current up to 80mA, with edge speeds of 50ps and provides programmable bias current up to 100mA. The MAX3863 includes adjustable pulse-width control to minimize laser pulse-width distortion. An automatic power compensation loop is incorporated to maintain a constant average optical power and a modulation compensation circuit is implemented to stabilize the optical extinction ratio over temperature and lifetime. The driver also offers a failure monitor output to indicate when the automatic power compensation loop is unable to maintain the average optical power. The MAX3863 accepts differential CML clock and data signals with on-chip 50 termination resistors. An input data-retiming latch can be used to reject input pattern-dependent jitter if a clock signal is available. The laser driver is fabricated with Maxims in-house second-generation SiGe process.
The MAX3863 is available in a 32-pin QFN package and operates from a 3.3V supply over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range. The MAX3863 is priced at $19.55 (1000-up, FOB USA). Evaluation kits are available.
