±60Vの障害保護、±15kVのESD保護、フェイルセーフのRS-485/RS-422トランシーバ
SUNNYVALE, CA-May 27, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX3443E ±60V fault-protected RS-485/RS-422 transceiver. The MAX3443E is intended for telecom, industrial, and HVAC applications that use power supplies as high as +48V. Line faults and short circuits up to ±60V do not damage or latch up the MAX3443E.
The MAX3443E is designed with many features to protect the device in fault conditions. Hot-swap circuitry eliminates false transitions along the data cable during circuit initialization or connection to a hot backplane. This circuitry keeps the driver in a high-impedance state until enable is asserted. Short-circuit current limiting and thermal shutdown protect the driver against excessive power dissipation. On-chip ±15kV ESD-protection structures eliminate the need for external devices when the device is used in rugged environments susceptible to static discharge. The MAX3443E also features true fail-safe receiver inputs to guarantee a logic-high output when the receiver inputs are open, shorted, or connected to a data line with all drivers disabled.
The MAX3443E operates from a single 5V supply, consuming only 1µA of supply current in shutdown. Data rates are guaranteed up to 10Mbps making this device ideal for use in data-intensive applications.
The MAX3443E is available in the commercial, extended, and automotive temperature ranges in an industry-standard 8-pin SO or 8-pin DIP. Prices start at $2.20 (1000-up, FOB USA).
