PowerPC、DSP、ASIC向け電圧トラッキングコントローラIC
SUNNYVALE, CA-June 13, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX5039 and MAX5040 voltage tracking controllers. These devices provide intelligent control to power systems where two power supplies need to track and limit the voltage difference during power-up and power-down. The MAX5039/MAX5040 are well suited for voltage tracking of I/O and core power supplies for PowerPC®, DSPs, and ASICs, preventing latchup and ensuring long-term reliability. Both devices drive an external N-channel MOSFET connected between the two voltage rails, allowing less than 200mV deviation between I/O and core voltage during power-up and power-down. Voltage tracking of two power supplies at any power level is possible. In addition, the devices detect short circuit on both supplies and they disable the power supplies in case of a short-circuit condition.
The MAX5039/MAX5040 operate from a 2.5V to 5.5V supply voltage. They provide tracking for core voltages (VCORE) of 0.8V to 4V and I/O voltages of VCORE to 4V. The MAX5040 has the same functionality as the MAX5039, but also includes an auxiliary comparator for voltage monitoring and a power-good output.
The MAX5039/MAX5040 are available in 8-pin and 10-pin µMAX packages, respectively, and are rated for operation over the extended-industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Prices start at $0.98 for MAX5039 and $1.14 for MAX5040 (1000-up, FOB USA).
