超小型、低電圧マイクロプロセッサ用、800mA、0.75V出力ステップダウンコンバータ
SUNNYVALE, CA-September 12, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX1927/MAX1928 step-down DC-DC converters, the first and only step-down converters in a 10-pin µMAX package to provide over 800mA at output voltages down to 0.75V. They switch at a fixed 1MHz to reduce external component size and provide low-noise outputs. They are the smallest and most efficient way to generate low-voltage core supplies for cell phones, smart phones, PDAs, and digital still cameras.
The MAX1927/MAX1928 include a low on-resistance internal MOSFET switch and synchronous rectifier to maximize efficiency and minimize external component count. No external diode is needed. The 100% duty-cycle operation allows a dropout voltage of only 225mV at 800mA.
The input voltage range is 2.6V to 5.5V. The output has 2% tolerance. The MAX1928 output is preset with internal resistors at popular voltages of 1.5V (MAX1928EUB15), 1.8V (MAX1928EUB18), and 2.5V (MAX1928EUB25). The MAX1927REUB has an adjustable output range down to 0.75V using an external resistor-divider. Both feature built-in soft-start to limit startup currents, power-OK output, and selectable forced-PWM operation for lowest noise at all load currents.
The MAX1927/MAX1928 are available in space-saving 10-pin µMAX packages screened for the extended-industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Prices start at $1.60 (1000-up, FOB USA). An evaluation kit is available to speed designs.
