Note to Editors: The MAX6736-MAX6745 are the industry's smallest, lowest power microprocessor supervisors for monitoring multivoltage systems. The tiny SC70 package and 6µA supply current make these devices ideal for monitoring I/O and core supplies in portable equipment.
SUNNYVALE, CA-September 17, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX6736-MAX6745 dual/triple-voltage microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits. These devices are designed to monitor industry-standard supply voltages from 0.9V to 5V and offer an adjustable reset input for monitoring voltages down to 0.5V. Whenever any of the monitored supply voltages falls below its respective threshold or manual reset is asserted, a reset signal is asserted for the reset timeout period (150ms or 1200ms min) after all of the monitored voltages rise above their respective thresholds and manual reset is deasserted. These low-power (6µA), SC70 devices are optimized for portable applications.

The MAX6736/MAX6737 are dual, fixed-voltage µP supervisors with a manual reset input. The MAX6738*/MAX6739 are dual-voltage µP supervisors with one fixed and one adjustable reset threshold input. The MAX6740/ MAX6743* monitor three voltages with two fixed and one adjustable reset threshold input. The MAX6741/MAX6744* are dual fixed-voltage µP supervisors with a power-OK output ideal for power sequencing. The MAX6742/MAX6745 have an independent power-fail comparator, which can be used to monitor an additional voltage or battery.

The MAX6736-MAX6745 are available in a 5-pin SC70 package and are fully specified from -40°C to +85°C. Prices start at $1.38 for the MAX6736-MAX6739 and $1.50 for the MAX6740-MAX6745 (2500-up, FOB USA).
