SUNNYVALE, CA-November 5, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX6730-MAX6735 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits. Designed to monitor system voltages from 0.63V to 5V, these integrated devices reduce cost and improve reliability by eliminating external components and adjustments.

These devices monitor single-, dual-, and triple-voltage systems. The MAX6730 has one fixed reset threshold, the MAX6732/MAX6733 have two fixed thresholds, and the MAX6734/MAX6735 have two fixed and one adjustable reset threshold. The fixed reset thresholds are designed to monitor system voltages from 0.9V to 5V; the adjustable reset threshold is capable of monitoring voltages down to 0.63V.

Whenever the supply voltage falls below its threshold or manual reset is asserted, the active-low reset output asserts and stays asserted for at least the minimum reset timeout period after all voltages exceed their respective reset thresholds and manual reset is deasserted. The MAX6730/MAX6732/ MAX6734 have open-drain reset outputs, and the MAX6731/MAX6733/MAX6735 have push-pull reset outputs.

All devices have a watchdog timer with an independent active-low watchdog output. Whenever the watchdog timer times out or a reset is asserted, the watchdog output pulses for 1µs. The watchdog timer has a startup delay of 54s after power-on reset or when reset is deasserted to allow proper system initialization. The MAX6730/MAX6732/MAX6734 have open-drain watchdog outputs, and the MAX6731/MAX6733/MAX6735 have push-pull watchdog outputs.

The MAX6730-MAX6733 are offered in SOT23-6 packages, and the MAX6734/MAX6735 are offered in SOT23-8 packages. All devices are fully specified over the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Prices start at $1.31 (2,500 or 10,000 minimum, FOB USA).
