SOT TEMPERATURE SENSORS FEATURE UNIQUE SINGLE-WIRE OUTPUTS
SUNNYVALE, CA—May 20, 1999—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6576/MAX6577 temperature sensors featuring a unique single-wire digital interface that communicates the temperature to a microprocessor over a single control line. The MAX6576 converts the ambient temperature into a square wave with a period proportional to absolute temperature (°K). The MAX6577 converts the ambient temperature into a square wave with a frequency proportional to absolute temperature. The period/frequency range of the output square wave can be selected from one of four preset values by hard-wiring the two time-select pins to either VDD or GND.
The MAX6576/MAX6577 feature ±3°C accuracy max (±0.8°C typical) at +25°C and ±5°C accuracy max at +125°C. They operate from a +2.7V to +5.5V supply and feature a low 140µA typical supply current, making the MAX6575L/H ideal for use in portable, battery-powered equipment.
The MAX6576ZUT/MAX6577ZUT come in space-saving six-pin SOT23 packages. Both devices are guaranteed to operate over the automotive temperature range (-40°C to +125°C). Prices start from $0.74 (2500-up, FOB USA).
