初の800mA、1V以下、2MHz、PWM、リセット出力付ステップダウンDC-DCがインダクタサイズを50%削減
SUNNYVALE, CA-May 16, 2003-Maxim Integrated Products
(NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX1572, the first 800mA, PWM, step-down converter capable of delivering low-output voltages. It includes a built-in 170ms DC-DC reset output and preset outputs for 0.75V to 2.5V, stepped in 50mV increments. The small size and minimal external part count is ideal for Smart Phone and PDA applications.
The MAX1572 operates at a high 2MHz and provides precision line and load regulation for the latest CPU and DSP cores. It uses a low-profile 2.2µH inductor and tiny ceramic capacitors. It has an input range of 2.6V to 5.5V for use with a single lithium-ion battery. Other features include voltage positioning for excellent load transients and analog soft-start with zero inrush current. To maximize battery life for hand-held equipment, the quiescent current is only 48µA and drops to 0.1µA in logic-controlled shutdown.
The MAX1572 comes in a space-saving 12-pin QFN package and is screened for the extended-industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Prices start at $1.95 (1000-up, FOB USA). An evaluation kit is available to speed designs.
