16ビット、低電力、2チャネル、シグマ-デルタADC
SUNNYVALE, CA-November 21, 2003-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX1415/MAX1416/MX7705 high-resolution 16-bit, dual-channel, sigma-delta analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). These ADCs interface directly to SPI(TM)-, QSPI(TM)- and MICROWIRE(TM)-compatible microcontrollers and DSPs. Low-power consumption (1mW max at 3V) and highly accurate DC or low-frequency AC measurement make these devices ideal for process control, industrial transmitters, instrumentation, and data-acquisition applications.
To reduce signal-conditioning requirements, a 1:128 programmable-gain amplifier (PGA) allows these ADCs to accept input signals directly from low-level signals, such as those from a strain gage or transducer. On-chip input buffers allow the measurement of high-impedance signals, which can be disabled for a direct input path into the ADC.
The MX7705 is pin- and software-compatible with the AD7705. For better performance, the MAX1415*/MAX1416* have improved linearity over the MX7705, as well as an internal oscillator. This internal oscillator is tightly specified and provides timing for the MAX1415/MAX1416, eliminating requirements for an external crystal, resonator, or clock source. The MAX1415/MAX1416 offer a 2x improvement in integral nonlinearity error over the AD7705/MX7705 (0.0015% FSR vs. 0.003% FSR INL).
These ADCs features two fully differential input channels with programmable unipolar or bipolar input ranges. A differential, external-reference input determines the full-scale range. The MAX1415/MX7705 consume only 0.3mA of current when using a 3V supply, and the MAX1416/MX7705 consume 0.45mA of current with a 5V supply. The power-down mode further reduces supply current to 8 microamps.
The MAX1415/MAX1416/MX7705 are available in 16-pin TSSOP, SSOP, and PDIP packages in the extended (-40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius) temperature range. Prices start at $4.09 (1000-up, FOB USA).
