新BTLオーディオアンプ、4Ωに最大1.4W、シャットダウンモード、及びピンコンパチブルパッケージ
SUNNYVALE, CA-October 29, 2003-Maxim Integrated Products
(NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX9718/MAX9719 fully differential, bridged audio amplifiers ideal for portable audio applications where space is at a premium such as PDAs, cell phones, and smart phones.
The MAX9718 is a single-channel amplifier, while the MAX9719 is a dual-channel amplifier for stereo systems. Both devices deliver 1.4W from a single 5V supply into a 4Ω load, and 475mW from a 3V supply into an 8Ω load.
The MAX9718/MAX9719 feature a differential-input structure, offering noise immunity to improve audio reproduction in devices such as cellular phones. The bridge-tied load (BTL) output stage drives the speaker differentially. This provides up to four times the output power of a conventional, single-ended output stage and eliminates the need for output-coupling capacitors, thus minimizing external component count. These devices are available in an open-loop, adjustable-gain configuration or with internally fixed gains of 0dB, 3dB, and 6dB to reduce component count. Other features include a low-power shutdown mode, clickless power-up/power-down, short-circuit protection, and thermal-overload protection.
The MAX9718 is available in 9-bump UCSP, 10-pin TDFN, and 10-pin µMAX packages and is pin-to-pin compatible with the LM4895. The MAX9719 is available in 16-bump UCSP, 16-pin TQFN, and 16-pin TSSOP packages. Prices start at $0.45 for the MAX9718 and $0.54 for the MAX9719 (100,000-up, FOB USA). An evaluation kit is available to speed designs.
