SUNNYVALE, CA-March 9, 2004-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX5732-MAX5735, the industry's highest precision and most compact 32-channel, 16-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs). They integrate 32 individually buffered, 16-bit DACs into a 8mm x 8mm, 56-lead QFN package. These devices reduce system cost by eliminating the need for external output amplifiers, filters, or capacitors, making these DACs highly cost-effective and space-saving design solutions. The small footprint and excellent linearity make them ideal for industrial MAX5732-MAX5735's applications including automatic test equipment (ATE), optical networking, and data acquisition.

Not only do the MAX5732-MAX5735 achieve an ultra-high level of integration, they offer improved linearity over previous generation devices. At the 16-bit level, they guarantee integral nonlinearity of 0.024% FSR (max) and differential nonlinearity of less than 1 LSB. Each of the four output voltage ranges (0 to +5V, 0 to +10V, -2.5V to +7.5V, and ±5V) maintain linearity to within 200mV of the supply rails. An integrated offset DAC allows programmable common-mode adjustment of these voltage ranges. The SPI-/QSPI-/MICROWIRE- compatible 3-wire serial interface connects with microprocessors and DSPs without additional circuitry and supports clock data rates as high as 33MHz. Additionally, the MAX5732-MAX5735 provide a digital output for daisy-chaining of multiple devices in a system.

The MAX5732-MAX5735 are available in the commercial (0°C to +70°C) and extended (-40°C to +85°C) temperature ranges. Prices start at $53.90 (1000-up, B-grade, commercial temp, FOB USA).
